Points and points vs miles

Hey all,
Just a random question. When I joined hilton hhonors I signed up for points and fixed miles ion southwest. Since Hilton and southwest parted ways I switched to points becuase I didn't have a secondary airline. I recently started flying with delta and would be Intrested in double dipping again.

Any info? How does it work with delta and fixed miles vs variable miles?
