Reward stays and HHonors points

Hi,
do reward stays (i.e. rooms booked only using HHonors points) count for your STATUS?

Moreover, do reward stays give you HHonors points?
Is there any promotion active?

I am going to book some reward stays, so please let me know if there is something I should keep in mind.
