My first awful Hilton stay of the year.. Hotel Albany.

All I can say is Wow.

I don't even know what to do at this point, I am considering leaving now and booking a different nearby property.

I am an HHonors diamond member with 50 or so stays this year, I can say without a doubt this is the worst property I have visited thus far.

Check-in was smooth- I was even able to check in a few hours early which was fantastic. Right off the bat, I noticed there was no status recognition or mention or breakfast. When I got to my room, I was underwhelmed. They're renovating the property and going for a very modern look but seem to have overlooked some key features.

First off, the heat in my room was turned up to 80, I walked into an oven. I unpacked my bags, put a few drinks in my fridge, and found leftover beverages from a previous guest in the fridge. There was a towel wadded up next to the bed (uhh...) on to the bathroom... Not bad at all.. but, there was no soap dish in my room, while this isn't a big deal, I do find it annoying. I just don't like leaving a bar of soap sitting on the counter.

The TV isn't working properly, constantly flicking in and out (not sure if it's the television or the connection with the service provider.. I'll give them the benefit of the doubt.)

I got my laptop out to get some work done and took a peak at the service directory. To my surprise, I found that there WAS an executive floor and lounge- Great! They didn't mention it at the desk, but at least I know I can grab breakfast in the AM and possibly a snack in the evening. Around 7pm I decided to head up and check out the lounge, to my surprise my key would not allow access to the floor for the lounge! WHAT? I am a Diamond member! Unbelievable!

I just had dinner in the restaurant downstairs, which was so-so. I met a nice girl who's staying as well, turns out she's a silver member and was upgraded to the executive floor. wow.

On top of all of this, I have heard loud noises all day. It's currently 11pm, and instead of sleeping I am writing a disgruntled review as I listen to what sounds like a team of idiots banging threw a brick wall.

I'd rather sleep in my car than return here.

Am I overreacting here? I just feel like this level of service reflects poorly on the brand name and is a stab in the back of the HHonors loyal members. I was a little annoyed by the Q4 promo- this seals it for me, Marriott is getting my stays starting tomorrow.
