Suggestions for night away with GF (UK)

Hi,

Thought I'd call on the helpful UK stayers on here... I'm planning a one night trip with my girlfriend for the end of the month and struggling to work out which property to use...

The specification is as follows:

- We live in Gloucestershire and have set a drive time (limit) of around 2hrs
- A nice property with some wow factor (want to impress :cool: )
- Happy to use points or cash
- Things nearby to do, active rather than shopping.

My grand idea was a suite at the MK Doubletree (then figured we could try snowboarding etc) but it's a match day the following day and tbh it's not exactly a stunning property (if you're not into football at least).

Cambridge looks nice but it's a little too far.

So open to ideas, the DT Chester is within reach, likewise Syon Park but hoping for some suggestions I may not have thought of (as well as for things to do!)...
