I have around 400k HHonors points and would like to use them for an upcoming family stay in HNL (on the way to LIH) in June '14 with 2 adults and 3 kids (9,5,5).
Also hold an Hhonors Amex and am Gold.
Have read some stuff about changes to AXON and GLON awards making them not as valuable (sometimes better to go for standard awards).
Assuming staying near Waikiki (though open to other options if recommended)
First time I did a search on HHonors site it gave me the Hilton Hawaii Village at some astronomical 140k per night rate? Happy to either get a large room/suite or 2 rooms.
What would be:
- the recommended hotel/resort?
- the recommended reward type to maximise points and minimise/avoid $ spend.
