Status Expiration........2016 ?

I kept my Diamond status alive through CC spend in 2013.

Due to the Deval I am not using HH credit cards anymore except for signup bonuses.

My new HH membership card arrived today and the expiration is March 2016

In the past the stats always expired in April 1 of the following year, is this something new ?
