Devaluing and New CC promos?

I saw in this forum that Hilton had devalued its points. I only stayed at Hilton in 2014 using points - previously it was paid biz trips.

Given that, is it worth getting bonus points using new CC offers? I am already keeping a HH AMEX to prevent points from expiring.
