Starwood, Marriott and Hyatt are doing the right things for their top-tiers.
Hilton is setting Diamond in the same level as Gold.
And you all know (especially the Hilton Hotels ) Gold members are the one with the credit-cards freebies and the blogger promotions.
I see this all the times: Families with 2 a 3 children and one Gold membership, but they all want lounge access, internet and free breakfast.
This is to expensive for the Hotels.
Conclusion: Upgrade the Diamond Status and Hilton HHonors will be back on their top next year. Skip the free breakfast for Gold Members and give Diamond members some extra amenities.^
