London Hilton

I did a quick search and found little in the way of a "here's where you want to stay thread" - just reviews of individual properties. I get to London at noon this Sunday and due to the bank holiday there have no work meetings until Tuesday morning. Where would you stay - I haven't been there in 10 years but have done the tourist thing several times before that. What's a good neighborhood for cafes, pubs, shops, walking around that won't be dead on Sun/holiday Monday?
