I had the misfortune to stay at this hotel last week and whilst the hotel website does say something like "refurbishment is ongoing", this is not really an accurate statement, it's more like major demolition and construction. The whole central atrium is being demolished, with attendant mini- dump trucks, diggers and jack hammers. The noise, dust and smell is just incredible. The foyer is gone and guest front desk is a temporary desk in the the entry hall, with front desk staff shouting about the din. In addition they are serving breakfast in a meeting room, with the breakfast items out in the hall-way under plastic sheets. Apparently the work, if on schedule, will be finished by the end of Feb 2015. Oh and don't expect any cut in rates....
With this scale of building work, the hotel should be temporarily closed, in my opinion, but at the very least my recommendation is to totally avoid this hotel until the work is finished. Go to TripAdvisor to see the very poor reviews in the last 3 weeks (mine included).
