There is a thread on the Delta board about giving holiday gifts such as starbucks card's and chocolates to flight attendants and skyclub employees.
Had me wondering if anyone does that for Hilton employees at holiday time. Unlike the flight crew who I only see one time normally, the front desk clerks and some lounge employees at Hilton I do see on a regular basis and some do know me by name.
I was just at the Hilton Bentley in Miami and when I got out of the taxi, Orlando the bellman knew me by name and welcomed me back, as did one of the front desk clerks, the server at Breakfast remembered I liked diet coke from previous stays and a beach butler and the pool baretender all remembered me. This has me wishing I would have brought them starbuck cards.
I have an upcoming stay in NYC at the Fashion District and another stay in LA (at a non-Hilton property) where the staff are just as great and was thinking of buying them gift cards.
Does anyone buy hotel employees gift cards at Holiday time? It seems more appropriate to me to give a gift card to employees I see and knows me by name and goes out of their way as opposed to a flight attendant I will only see one time and may not provide that great of service.
