What are the chances of actually receiving an upgrade via the eStandby Upgrade email?

I am Hilton Gold. I booked a 5-night stay at Hilton Anaheim convention center this August. I booked a King Studio Suite.

I received an e-mail from the eStandby Upgrade system that offered some paid upgrades that are not bookable on the Hilton website:

- High Floor Upgrade Request (extra $19/night)
- Studio Suite with Disney View (extra $44/night)
- Deluxe Suite (extra $77/night)
- Deluxe Suite with Lanai Access (extra $88/night)
- Premier Suite with Lanai Access (extra $180/night)

Honestly, I'd love all of these options, and I'd be willing to pay for any of them, regardless of my status. This trip is an all-out vacation, so I want to make it special.

Question 1: What are the chances that I actually get one of these upgrades? Are they pretty hit-and-miss? Or do most people end up getting what they requested?

Question 2: I called Hilton and asked for those rooms back in December 2014 for an August 2015 booking and they said none of those Deluxe and Premier rooms were available.... I honestly don't believe them. 6+ months in advance and they are taken? Are they reserved for certain people? Why aren't the Deluxe and Premier Suites bookable?

Thanks!

Ethan
