I'm currently at Hilton Anatole (Dallas, TX) and when I checked in, the front desk clerk told me "we've upgraded you to a junior suite"! I thought, great! Then when I got to my room, I quickly noticed it was the exact same room type I had booked. The place is DEAD, and the "upgrade" is on the 6th floor out of 26 when I have high floor listed on my profile. I was chatting with the very nice host in the executive lounge who confirmed that I wasn't upgraded, and the deluxe king room type that I booked was what I received. The hotel is DEAD - 22% occupancy tonight and will hit 70% during the week, with all room types available to book during my stay. No reason she couldn't have at least assigned me an executive floor room. It really ticked me off that she lied about this; why not just say nothing? Is this something that has happened to others? This is the first time I remember being lied to about something like this, and I certainly won't stay here again if this is how this property treats diamonds with regards to room assignments and upgrades.
