Converting SPG points to Hilton points

Hi all,

I'm looking to convert some SPG points over to Hilton as the top-tier redemption rates at SPG are ridiculous compared to Hilton.

Only way I know is to transfer SPG points to Virgin Atlantic miles and then transferring them to Hilton Hhonors. As 20,000 SPG points = 25,000 Virgin Atlantic miles and Virgin Atlantic miles transfer at a ratio of 1:2 to Hilton that would mean I get 50,000 Hilton HHonors points for every 20,000 SPG points.

While I am well versed with SPG, I am not too sure about Hilton. I value 1 SPG point at 3 US cents so 20,000 SPG points would be about 600USD in value to me. How do you guys value Hilton points? Is converting SPG points to Hilton worth it and is there a better way than the one I described above?
