is there anyone who thinks that adjustable beds at HGI properties are a good idea?

I've stayed in three HGI propreties in the past 10 days
In the first;
-the air adjustment on the bed was broken and it deflated slowly. Half way through the night, I needed to get moved to another room. The replacement room was only a little better - half the bed was broken and the other half deflated slowly. I finished the night on the fold out couch and asked for (and received) a refund of my pre paid rate
In the second;
-half the bed was deflating, the other half was OK. I woke up whenever I strayed past half way but even though it was a two night stay, the FOH said they couldnt get it fixed (or get me moved) for the second night
In the third,
-the adjustment knobs were broken right off. The bed was about 50/50 adjusted and I managed to sleep through fitfully but was annoyed.

I felt stongly about the first case and insisted on getting the night without charge. I almost felt pedantic to get the 2nd and 3rd nights free so put up with the situation.

So in what way is the adjustable bed a good selling point? Part of me says that now these adjustable beds have had good use (and are getting worn out) if I stay in HGI, there's now an increased chance of me getting the stay for nothing. But the other part of me says I like my sleep and I'd rather pay for a good night than get refunded for a bad night.

Should I
a) choose another hotel brand
b) start a campaign to get the beds from hell removed or
c) add a note to my booking that I'm looking for room where the bed has been verified as being in full working order

I'm thinking c). Anyone care to join me in adding such a request to the booking notes. If enough of us do it, perhaps the individual properties will start to engage in a little preventative maintenance to avoid the inevitable storm of good night guarantee claims????:confused::confused:
